The need to develop your sense of alignment (finding neutral)

The point of finding neutral is to center your body and find balance. Is ais also used so you can stand without any strain on a particular body part e.g. your right foot, if you lean right. this means you can move in any direction as we are centered. It strengthens key muscles and allows you to move more effectively. Studies also show that many back problems stem from bad posture and it can lead to disc  and joint degeneration.

We did this by having unlocked knees, this is so yo don't strain your knees and also give you better mobility as slightly bent knees allow you to move from your knees rather than your hips. We put our feet shoulder length apart to create a straight line with our body. Your must also be looking at the horizon, this allows your spine to straighten and your head to become level.
